it is 5/8. it is made out of thermal polymer. It is not like aluminum or copper. I would think that this transfer less heat. anyone else think so or know so?

Will it transfer less heat? Maybe, but the plenum doesn't get that hot, and the total amount of heat doesn't change based on the spacer material. So even if the Blox absorbs/transfers less heat, all that means is the upper and lower plenum halves are slightly hotter. It's not like the metal spacers somehow produce additional heat.

Get a Motordyne. Or at least get an Aramid gasket that replaces the lower plenum gasket. It reduces the amount of heat transfered from the engine to the plenum so the plenum has less heat it has to dissipate. Motordyne includes one with their spacers.

And why a 5/8"? Almost all of it's benefit comes at the higher end at the expense of power at the lower end, and most people aren't consistently running their cars at 5K+ RPMs. A 5/16" or 3/8" has a much more useful power band with gains all the way up the RPM ladder.

+100000 on that. Motordyne is head and shoulders above other brands in terms of quality and their customer service is amazing. Tony personally helped me out from his cell phone when I had a question about installation and I have been a champion of them ever since. Outstanding product that works like it says it will. You will be glad you spent the little extra for Motordyne.

I have DC headers, kinetix hfc, and design chaos tb spacer. Chaos is the only tb spacer that works.

So if money was no option, the md 5/16 is still the way to go?

I might pick up one of these when my warranty is over. I've heard good things about them. What would be some good supporting intake mods?

yup the 5/16 is the best spacer i feel. Very stealthy because its not that thick, best for dd. gives you gains where u need it. Get a ztube, engine damper, grounding wires, crank pulley, k & n drop in filter, and a design chaos tb spacer.

The 5/16ths give the most overall improvement across the RPM spectrum. A bigger spacer (1/2" to 5/8") gives you more power at the top end, but at the expense of low end and overall power. Motordyne's website has some nice dyno graphs. And you don't need to wait until your warranty is over, a spacer won't void it.

4dr's right about a few of them (Z-Tube, filter, grounding kit if you have a 5AT), as for the rest, I have my doubts. Do your own research, but the claims made on these last 3 are difficult to verify. Underdriven pulleys reduce rotational mass, but that doesn't necessarily translate to more power at the wheels. If they did, everyone on this site would have one. Throttle body spacers work fine on a carbureted intake, but the G is injected, so it has virtually no effect. And certainly nowhere close to what the manufacturers claim (25TQ, 18HP, 4MPG). Remember how the Tornado was supposed to revolutionize the intake system? That's how a throttle body spacer works. And unless you're running FI, engine dampers will have little effect. The VQ is already a very smooth, well balanced engine. I think these last 3 would be a waste of money, money that could be spent on proven mods.
