when do these go out? i feel like when i start the car up the first time in the morning, it kind of for split second will not start up immediality like it used to. Kind of like it keeps turning and your holding the key to the right to start. would this entail a new starter? Probably not the battery. Once it starts up, the rest of the day is fine. I dont want to just keep cranking it to start up. I have 56k miles.

your starter is probably good.

how long would you say it cranks before it turns over? anything under 2 seconds I would deem to be normal.

You probaly need new spark plugs or something, how much km on your car?

i find that little by little in that morning cold start up. it seems i gotta hold the key more than before than obviously when i just got the car. like its catching/cranking for that sec or whatever. hard to install new plugs myself? is that the fix? havent had any of that replaced since having the car its 56k miles now.

With 56K miles, the plugs are prob okay.

The starter is also prob good as it's turning over, the car is just hesitant to fire.

I'd start by tossing some fuel injector cleaner in and give that a shot. Also it wouldn't hurt to pull a plug out just to inspect it for oil or fouling or something.

im not opening up the engine and taking alot of things apart. i dont know any of that. i have replaced air filter and thats it for this car. hmmmm fule cleaner for a 04? isnt that for old cars. im gonna have to research it more. can i just use 1 bottle and thats it. i never used that for previous cars.

I would recommend induction cleaning and fuel system cleaning.

Yes...Fuel Injector Cleaner. Your car is a modern EFI engine and over time the fuel injectors can become clogged with debris from the tank or fuel. A bottle of fuel injector cleaner here and there doesnt hurt. I myself don't do it too often really, maybe every 50K miles i toss a bottle in.

Stumbing on startup has a LOT of potential causes. I understand not wanting to tear things apart, but if you pull a plug and there is oil on one then it's the sign of a major problem. That of course is an extreme example, so why not start with the easy stuff. Fuel Injector Cleaner, cleaning the Mass Air FLow sensor, perhaps an ECU reset, and then take it from there

When it starts to crank, is is cranking as fast or normal, or is it slower? If it is slower, your battery may be on its last legs. You can go to and auto parts store, even WalMart and have the battery tested, probably for free.

Sometimes a weak battery can lead to a stumble on startup. Have it load tested, not just touch a meter to it and see if it has 12V
