I had to replace a tire and i was riding on my full spare and i thought that it was that noise because the rim is scuffed bad from accident so i thought it was making the noise. Anyway i got the brand new tire and the noise is still there. when i drive now as i increase speed it gets worse i hear this awful whirling howl noise from inside the car. i dont know seems like its coming from front but i cant tell. i got in accident months ago on left front fender and i had that same noise from what i remember and i got everything replaced the spindle/knuckle everything. now it seems something is back. does this have to do with anything with the engine because when its idling its fine as i increase above 30 i can hear the noise coming and if im on the highway cruising its loud road noise. Did i ruin my wheel alignment and need to get it realigned for driving on a flat to get to a gas station and i mean the tire was rubbing and totally flat. what is this problem? i dont want to take it to infiniti to pay for diagnosing problem because its hard to diagnose this.

I had the same noise and it was the wheel bearing. They replaced it and everything is just fine now. Just an idea...

that means i gotta go back to the autobody shop that replaced my whole left front fender, bearing and all. how could a wheel bearing be shot already?? i thought those rarely go. Could it be the front right wheel now? I didnt get that replaced. It just started happening. The noise is so annoying. how much they charge you? how does a wheel bearing make the howling noise? how do you determine which one is the bad wheel bearing?Originally Posted by Ultiman

Mine was covered under my extended warranty plan. I had a loud howling noise that occurred over 30 mph and was more prevalent when making a right hand turn.
I brought it in and they checked it out and told me that they needed to replace my front driver's side wheel bearing.

mine just gets louder as the speed increases. the highway is the worst. it is def not my tires. i dont understand how my wheel bearings are shot again, well only 1 was messed up and that was replaced.Originally Posted by Ultiman

so how do i know which one is it? it could well be the same one that was replaced and they installed it incorrectly?
so i got it checked out and my front right wheel bearing needed to be replaced. thats very wierd that the front left weared out i got it replaced now my front right needs to be replaced. i thought these like never go bad. he said if i got just the wheel bearing your taking a chance of trying to use your existing hub or something. he said just get bearing and hub attachment so your not trying to sacrifice the existing one. what about salvage yard? this stuff is expensive
