Really? I had a base model '07 or '08 loaner and the stereo sounded 1000 times better than the Bose in my '05. The bass is almost non-existent in mine.

I did test drive an '05 base model for the hell of it, and to be honest I would have regretted buyin that car. No auto headlights, no Auto windows on the rear, no dual climate (not that i use it...but knowing i don't have it would have killed me!) and the bluetooth which came on the '06

If i had gotten a coupe, it would have had to have the rear active steer. If i bought one without it...it would have bothered me and i would have regretted not waiting to get one.

I guess i spoil myself like that, but i'd rather have the car I want rather than "settle" for a car i like.
Haha, that sounds exactly like me. I kind of regret not getting NAV even though I would rarely ever use it. I hope to get it in my next car. My requirements when I bought this car was for it to be premium and be AWD. I test drove a 2006 RWD base model and am definitely glad I kept looking. I would have ended up paying more for it than I did for mine.

I just regret that the AWD model does not come with a manual transmission or that is definitely what i would have bought after coming from driving my wife's WRX.

Before purchasing my 06 Sedan (Non Premium), I had test drove a 07-08 and the car was totally a different beast inside out. However, due to this being my first car I got financed and the amount of down payment I put, the 06 seemed like a better deal. I walked out with 15 for my current car. The 07 was going to be 23 out the door. Relatively cheap but the monthly payments weren't the greatest for the 07.

The way I look it, is yes the car does lack some basic features. Coming from a 99TL which had auto headlights and a the powered rear view mirror, this was disappointing for my 06. However, the car is still sick compared to other cars out there in its league. Yeah, I dont have a 6MT nor the "Bose" package, but it's a "G" at the end.

i'm not sure the exact numbers, but the general consensus is that 6mt sedans account for ~5% of sedan production. i've been looking for a clean (or extra clean) local '06 6mt sedan for over a year in the Vancouver area where there are quite a few G's. in the past year i have seen only 2 or 3, all asking $29K+! that amount seems way out of line with the market so i don't even bother looking at them. especially after looking at the Marketplace on here - rediculous low prices elsewhere!

i have seen some '05's but my definition of "clean" clearly did not align with the seller's - and i want to upgrade by at least 2 years anyhow (i love the 05/06 6mt sedan pkg). i love how some people can say a car is clean when it has major curb rash, numerous scrapes & scratches, no history, broken/torn trim, no manual and undersized tires! i have howled with laughter when looking at used vehicles including 2 days ago.

in canada the 6mt's come loaded. the only option is NAV i believe.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right. I have all the options that some have mentioned they are missing, except the NAV.

Also, I know exactly what you mean about the sellers calling theirs cars "clean" and then you come and see them and it's like "wtf did you do?".

Here in Toronto I had very similar experience... there are very few choices with MT. They are generally more expensive than comparable cars with AWD or just auto. The ones that are in good condition (VERY few) will often sell fast even when the price is quite high.
