Snowbelt G35x Owners: Snow Question

I did an extensive search regarding the G35x and its handling in snow, and believe it or not I came up with very little information. So I hope this isn't a repost. Sorry if it is.

I'm on the verge of buying a G35x. I live in Wisconsin where snowfall can get into the 10" range. I've read in various car magazines how the G35x is great on packed snow and ice, but no one has discussed how the G35x handles when presented with six inches of snow--fluffy or wet and heavy snow. Those of you who have experienced similar conditions, please offer some insight into how the G35x gets through the heavy, unplowed snow.

Thanks, everyone!

Re: Snowbelt G35x Owners: Snow Question

I live in Chicago and got my car at the begining of December. I drove through all kinds of snow, fluffy, packed, wet, plowed, unplowed. Not one problem, the slip light blinked a couple of times when starting from a stop every now and then but that's it. Didn't really need to use the snow button either, I tried it a couple of times and it does make a slight difference. Hope this helps.

Re: Snowbelt G35x Owners: Snow Question

I don't own a G35x (at least not yet). I did make a point to test drive one last year when Minneapolis received a very heavy snow fall. Based on my 10 minute drive through marginally plowed roads I would say that it's handling was on par with my Subaru, which has never left me stuck. I will not hesitate to buy one if I decide it is the vehicle for me.

Re: Snowbelt G35x Owners: Snow Question

I own a G35x, but unfortunently I picked it up in May so I can't directly answer your question. Automobile magazine had a big comparsion between the G35x and the G35 also the A4 vs the quattro version. I believe they used michelin facillity to test the cars good and poor condition handling. The article was either their april or may magazine. Its not on the internet so you might have to go to some lengths to find it. If i can remeber the g35x did alot better in the hill climbing part. Good luck with your future purchase.
