anyone with an 04 X...

relocate their snow button? i'm working on putting mine next to the VDC right now, which imho is how it should have come stock... i think the easiest way to relocate it would be to hide it in the ashtray though.

if you did something similar, id love ideas, if so, how'd you do it? PICS FTW!!!

I know this is a little off topic but it's worth a discussion. You know I like the idea of the locking diffs at 50/50, but I'm not fond of the decreased acceleration. I wonder if there's a way we can modify the switch to just switch the diffs and not the throttle control.

On the topic of the button relocation, I agree with the VDC relocation. What are you going to do with the hole in your console?

As far as having the switch control the diffs, I don't think itd be that simple( someone chime in here if I'm wrong) since its not a cj or some mechanically controlled system, its computer controlled, you'd have to alter the computer programming of the brain.
As for what I'm doing about the hole, I bought a CF overlay for my car, since it was designed for a non x it has no hole... My x was packaged with parts of the wood, platinum, and plain black trim packages, and I've always hated it, so now I'm converting it to a cf interior

what he said. VDC is down next to the dimmer. there is an extra knockout down below that. i've moved the trunk down there already. i need to figure out a trim piece now for the snow switch to go where the trunk switch was. just for ***** and giggles, what's your layout look like mustang?

On the 05-06, the VDC is in the same spot. It's by your left knee next to the trunk release and interior light dimmer.

The SNOW button is located by your right knee kinda where the cig lighter would be on the 03-04. .

When you are driving, you never see it.

Ironically, i like the idea of it being on the console near the shifter. I always feel weird when i lean forward and have to reach for it. When i let people drive my car this winter, i told them to use the snow button when it's slick out...and i always get the phone call "Where is the SNOW button!"

Dash swap? Jk... I tried milling out the knockout to use as a trim piece for the bezel, however its not quite big enough, and would result in the button being recessed. Also I'd have to glass the two pieces together I think... Or glass the knockout/switch to the back of the dash

When I bought my car, my salesman confirmed he didn't know much about Infiniti's because when I told him I couldn't find it, he looked around the cabin and said "I guess this one didn't come with a Snow switch". Nice guy, but it didn't surprise me when I found out he was "downsized" a month or so after I bought my car.

yeah, there's nothing more satisfying than that... except in my case; where the whole DEALERSHIP went under... suzuki of lynnway... i'm sure mustang knows it, he's nearby... anyways getting back to the switch, i'm going to go to rshack tonight and see if they have a similar size switch i can use the bezel from.... otherwise ill have to start glassing it i guess.
