Does anyone know what the dealer might charge to correct the supplemental airbag dash light (fix whatever airbag problems there are)? Any one have this experience? Thanks. It's a 2005 with only 12k miles and no accidents.

Make sure your car was produced during or after 08/05 or you're out of luck on the warranty.

Depends on what it is.

I had an airbag light this spring, i took it in and they replaced the driver's airbag, the clockspring and a side airbag sensor.

I'd imagine that is prob over $1500 in parts alone.

There is a procedure to reset the airbag light on here. Search for "airbag reset" and see if it comes up. It will clear the airbag light...but if there is a fault it will come back eventually

My car was a repurchase car due to the airbag light going off 3 times in one year.

All of my airbag wiring was replaced and I haven't had a problem at all. I imagine it's a bit pricey like the previous poster mentioned.

Dealer wanted $1900 to replace a module. I searched here and found the reset procedure which worked for many, but it just came back for me. I then took it to a auto electrician who charged me $70 to reset it. It's been a week and the light hasn't come back.

For you guys that are just resetting the warning light to go off, good luck in an accident b/c your airbags or seatbelts may not work properly or at all.

This has happened to me about 4 times since I bought the car. I bought it with 42k and it has 59k. Thankfully this has been covered under warranty...but is there a TSB for this. It's a hassle having to get it fixed. I just got it fixed a week ago when I had my $1400 60k service and literally two days later, it comes up again. This time I used the Airbag Reset Procedure I found on the driver

Thanks. However the dealership claims only certain parts of the airbag system are covered under powertrain 60 month/70k warranty. I have a feeling they are going to try to charge me about $1,500+. He said usually a couple hundred dollars are covered. B.S. In reading the linked thread above, this happened to another guy and they tried to charge him $2k. In the end they covered him, but I might not be as successful dealing with these swindlers.

Well, if there is a charge you don't have to pay to have it fixed. You can just have the airbag light diagnosed. The airbag light is like a check engine light. When it comes on, there are codes stored. If you have the correct tool, you can read the codes and determine the cause of the prob.

So what i'm saying is you can bring it in and havbe them run the diagnostics and then get back to you with the cause of the problem and find out if it is covered under warranty. If it's not, you can choose to fix, or just pay the diagnostic fee (find out what it is beforehand)

Either way, fixing airbag crap out of warranty is a PITA. If you don't fix it, you lose a lot of resale on your car when it comes time to sell. Airbags are expensive....and this car has 8 of them.

I have a 2005 G35 with the flashing airbag light. The reset procedure works for a day or so, but the light comes back on. I've only had this car for a short while, but I noticed the front seat was loose when I bought it. I tightened it up, but I'm wonderng if this would have triggered the warning light. I'm taking it to a Nissan dealer near my home in the morning. They said they can diagnosis it for me for $100.00. Hoping it's not going to break the budget

Airbag Warning Light Flashing
My daughter's 2005 G35 had a flashing airbag light. I tried the reset procedure, but it kept returning. I took it to Pearson Infinity in Richmond on Friday. Even though the car has 75K and was out of warranty, Infinity agreed to replace the seat airbag at no charge. This I'm sure is due to the fact the car has been dealer maintained. Thank you Infinity, as this would have been about $1200.00 to replace, had I been paying for it. My suggestion... Visit the dealer in your area.
