CRASH! Absent Minded Minvan Driver: 1 / G35: 0
I wouldn't feel to bad about the pricing and the damage. About this time last year. I was ran off the road by some dooche in a F-150. He was paying attention more to his phone call than the road and well Lets just say the damage to my car wasn't to sever but COST alot when I brought it to the stealship after everything was done.
There was over 90 items needing to be replaced.
Parts:5449.00
body labor:787.00
paint labor:572.00
Mech labor 1365.00
Frame Labor:414.00
Paint supplies:364.00
Sublet/Misc:360.00
Total:9307.84
Tax:8.25% 479.00
So yea that is what my insurance paid out and still didn't total the car lol and My rate didn't go up.Being the azzhole ran me off the road. In other words his insurance paid it but it was a pretty penny and the car still runs great. Im glad I brought it the dealership and not some corner place cause they did a hell off a Job and you would never notice it was in a accident.

The body work is done, I'm satisfied. It's a shame the original paint is so thin, you can see the difference in the new paint if you know where to look. The insurance company did authorize another $800 for the repair.
The insurance also came up with $229 as the diminished value amount taking into account "the age, mileage (50K), equipment (sports), previous losses if applicable (none) and severity of the damage of your vehicle."
I think $229 is low, but I don't know of a way to justify a higher amount, since I'm not sure there is a reasonable way to calculate diminished value... it's not like you can compare G35s with one crash to G35s with zero crashes... can you? any suggestions?
Thanks,
