Muffler advice...
No, not a direct bolt on HKS. But just buy the 03/04 one and take it to an exhaust shop like mufflerman or whatever and they will bolt and weld it all on for less than $100.
Well worth the money.

Or you could just buy the 03-04 bracket, hangers, and 2 bolts and do it yourself. From start to finish it took me all of 30 minutes to install it.
Nice avatar BTW!!

If you get a muffler tip that is resonated that raps goes away. Trust me. I had no muffler and one with a resonated tip and one without. Believe it or not, the rasp was not there with the resonator and sounds better than the HKS imo...louder too. I always got compliments on it but I took it off because I got cited for it
I installed the HKS sport exhaust on my 06.. i just order the bracket and the hangers... you can use ur old hardware.. took me 45 mins for the whole thing..

Question: on my 2003.5 G sedan, I have cpe midpipe + HKS. It sounds freaking awesome especially under WOT. The problem is when I decided to get the HKS, I was home based and did not use the car every day. Shortly after, I was moved to a new office space and it has been a dd for almost a year and the drone that you get while driving easy is getting to me. When I wot and drive aggressive, I like it. But, I don't want to drive like that in this car anymore, I just want to cruise and have it be quieter. Plus I have my Z06 for WOT, rumbling, bumbling fun. Given this, I have 2 options, which one do you advise:
1. Put the stock muffler back on and leave the cpe midpipe on.
Pros: I loved this sound as this was my setup before the HKS. It was more cpe-like than the stock setup, but had NO drone at all, quiet but yet had a sporty non-overbearing sound.
I can sell the HKS to gain back some funds.
Cons: Stock exhaust tips suck monkey-azz. (but I could do the daveb altima fatboy tip-mod.) Does not have that HKS exotic, very in your face wot sound--oh how I wish there were a dual-mode switch for this.
2. A. Put the 3,000 lb stock midpipe on and leave the HKS
Pros: probably no drone, quieter, yet still has distinctive HKS sound at WOT. No need to do altima tip mod.
Cons: Can't sell the HKS to gain back some cash. Stock Midpipe is HEAVY.
2 B. Put 2005 sedan midpipe + HKS
Pros: Reduced drone, still have the distinctive HKS sound at wot.
Cons: Can't sell the HKS to gain back some cash, what if the drone is still too much. I have to fish out a sedan midpipe.
What route would you take given that I need a quieter, cushy sedan? I'm leaning towards #1.
.( Not changing the rays and z/cpe setup as it rides damned good given the size of the wheels/tires etc....(35 series).)

What a difference. Eliminated most of the drone and the car seemed to drive a little smoother as well. It still has a tiny amount of drone below 2000 RPMs but I actually like the sound. So I sold the z tube and my muffler suddenly cost a little less

^Dang I wish I knew this before I went and bought all the Brackets and Hangers for the 2004 from infinitparts OEM.Oh Well If they fit they fit if not Ill have more parts to help make them fit.
I also bought the HKS Sport exhaust and the MR Y Pipe.According to MR support the Y pipe should be a direct bolt on.IF it isn't Ill just bring it to a local shop. Also thanks Blue Dream was a major help with all the info. Once I hit the states in a few weeks Ill have Pics and sound clips!

You might have a third option. Are you running a z tube?? I was and installed the HKS onto a coupe mid/HR y pipe combo. The drone was pretty bad and I wasn't happy. So I took off the coupe mid and put on the sedan mid. I was amazed at how much the SM muted the muffler sound. Not what I was looking for so I replaced it with the CM, but took off the z tube.

Can you clarify on the sedan midpipe + HKS sound? Was that the 2005 SM? Describe the idle, cruise and wot sound levels and drone? This might be an option for me and I won't have to mess with the stock tips. If this still drones with 2005 mp, I might put stock mp on--I bet the 05 sm + HKS has tiny bit of drone or none at all and the 03 probably has no drone, but might drown out all the hks sound except for wot.......
what to do.....

Unfortunately I didn't leave the 05 SM on long enough to give you a detailed report. I put it on, drove for about 10 minutes with a friend who drives a coupe, and immediately took it off. In that time I noticed no drone, but was unpleasantly surprised with how quiet it was. We really couldn't hear it until you seriously got into the throttle. During normal acceleration it was very quiet and that wasn't what I was looking for. If you're thinking about pairing up the HKS with a stock MP my guess is the 05-06 would sound better than the 03-04.
It reminded me of the stock coupe sound as far as volume, maybe even a touch quieter.
Sorry I couldn't be more of a help.
