A Dealer just got a used '03 Sedan in
It has Leather, Premium, and Winter Packages. It looks real clean, but it has 40K miles on it. What is a good price for this? I would either have it "certified" or just buy an extended warranty. I don't usually drive over 10K a year myself, so the miles would eventually average out. Am I crazy for even looking at a G35 with this many miles?

I bought mine in Jan 2003 and have 33600 on it. I make long trips so it may not be as bad as you might want to think.

I got 41k on mine, bought it 5/3/03, and mine is worth 25k suggested dealer retail.
the one you are talking about (if you go to www.kbb.com) is worth 26,410 US dollars
you need a better price

I just sold my 2003.5 sport w/11K miles for little less than $27K. The car was in perfect condition. For a 40K mile car, I would not pay anything more than $25... probably will shoot for $24
Re: A Dealer just got a used '03 Sedan in
3point5se - I haven't been given a firm price yet. I about fell over when the dealership was trying to sell a 2003 G35 (with Sunroof, Bose, and Winter Pkg) with 39,500... for $30900. I patiently explained that this was $800 over the invoice price of an '04, and only $1800 less than full MSRP for a new '04. I told them that obviously the car needs to be under 25K, as tires will need to be replaced (and possibly brakes & rotors). The In-service date was 7/7/02 on it, so it only has 20 months & 20K left of the original factory warranty. I'd probably get an extended warranty from Grubbs, so tack another $1250 to $1575 on the price (depending what option I chose). Obviously if I buy it for $27,000 & immediately stick another $3,000 into it - then I'm at the invoice price on a new '04 G35 again (one with 40K less miles and a full 4/60 warranty). Hell I can trade my '03 Av for a '03 G35 Sedan (leather & premium) straight up ($28K for 28K) - and the in-service date is 8/03 & the mileage is 10K. I can probably get this guy down another $500 to $1,000 dollars - but the dealership is 300 miles away from me. Of course I can always buy a new '04 I35 and get a check for $1100 to $1500.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I have 41000 on mine and it actually seems better and smoother than it ever has. I cant really explain it. Properly maintained, these drivetrains will go 250000 miles easily. Drive a new one first as a baseline, then drive the used one. As long as the fit/finish still feel good, offer $24K and you will have a great car for the dollar.
