Is this a good deal? 32.5K....G35x
Hi all,
Just came back from testing a g35x...NICE!!!!! I am thinking of getting this, black g35x with black leather, it also comes with moonroof, bose, mud guard, trunk matt. The sales guy saids he's giving me at their invoice price and he's only making about 500+ on it. He quoted me 32.5k on the car.
After testing a 325i auto and tsx 5-speed, wow this G35 is fast! even with auto!...tried the steptronic manual and quote impressive...blows out the 325i and tsx. I asked him about the 2005 model. He said the 2005 g35x won't be available till prob. next Thanksgiving and they prob. come with side moldings etc and would be much more close to paying msrp at 38k. It's 17+ horses but I think this 2004 is FAST enough for me. I am currently driving 92 accord 5 speed so power was like night and day. What do you guys think about the deal? There is also a g35x silver over black leather, and moonroof. That would he can give it to me for about 31.5k
Then I stopped by and checked the subura legacy and wrx. The interior was like crap compared to the G35.

mikeee2,
Does that price include the premium package? I don't remember exactly the differences between the with and without premium features but I paid about $34,400 for my G35X (in March) with premium and that's in the Pacific NW where we have few Infiniti dealers and high prices. So, it sounds like a good deal to me.

I am in New York. It doesn't have Premium. It has moonroof and bose system (part of the premium stuffs) but not the premium package. How you like the g35x so far? Any problems etc? Also, how expensive is it for you when you had to bring car to dealers for oil change, tune ups, etc?

mikeee2,
I checked edmunds.com and they say invoice on the car like you described it is $31,900. They probably get incentives (holdbacks) from Infiniti for another $500 or so on every G35 sold so they should be able to go to $31,900 without too much arm-twisting. It's up to you how badly you want to negotiate that $500-$600 difference.
I love my car. No problems whatsoever. I don't know about dealer service. I've been doing my own oil changes at 3,000-mile intervals and have yet to go in for the 7,500-mile checkup. By the way, the brakes now receive a special warrantee that covers pad replacement, rotors and service for something like 36,000 miles (I don't remember how long time wise).
Sounds like you're in for a treat. Hope you get the car!

I paid $31,400, which was $1000 over invoice in December. I don't have the Bose which is $720 invoice. So $31,120 should be invoice for that car (plus any price increase in the last few months).

Either prices have gone up or Marty's price doesn't include the $590 destination cost that's unavoidable. I don't mean to nit pick but Edmunds has been reliable in the past for pricing data and that's the only way I can make Marty's $1,000 over invoice price pan out.

The $31400 ($1000 over invoice included the $590 transportation). From Infiniti, the G35x with sunroof, trunk mat, and transportation is $33750. Infiniti's markup is approx. $2800, making the invoice $30950. This means the price increase since I got mine in December is $550. Adding the Bose ($900 X 0.91= $819). Total is $31769. Very close to Edmunds. If your getting a leftover 2004, the price should be around invoice and Infiniti is currently offering 1.9% interest.

I paid 33500 with Premium, birds-eye maple, splash guards and trunk mat. Prob about $250 over invoice. I was happy with the price and buying experience. Pick a dealer with a large inventory, the cars have to move for the 05 arrivals.
No problems/issues with my car at all. Tight as a drum so far. Effortless acceleration. I even like the slightly higher ride height. I'm just approaching 1000 mi. so I got to open it up a bit this weekend.
No regrets..
Go buy one now.
