Recently I've had a spate of run-ins with jack-offs in far inferior cars trying to goad me into racing them in traffic. It's not like I'm advertising or giving the skunk eye or anything just cruising around town. I'm not even a young guy. I stay away, not worth it to get into trouble over their sorry asses, anyone else have that problem? A couple of recent examples....a couple of jock jerks in an older '90s model Civic SI with some lame scooops, some guy in an Integra and most recently some dude in his girlfriends Pontiac Sunfire, cmon!!!

Yes I've notice the same thing. I chalk the wreckless goading up to imaturity and jealousy. I pay no notice to it at all.

Street racing around here is really frowned on by the local constabulary, and if you're caught, it can be very costly.

It's just not worth the risk.

I run into this all the time where I live. I actually just posted a similiar message yesterday on this. 99.9% of the time I ignore these young punks, but once in a while I like to put them in their place.

They seem to think that when they have a huge wing and loud exhaust installed on their Sunfire they automatically have a fast car.

 

The sunfires?...what the hell is up with these cats. All of a sudden I have has 3 challenges. Did they go to RKsport and get parts or what. None were a challenge but it seems to only be sunfires. I got toyed with by an EVO but he said he wanted to hear my exhaust and liked it.."man,it just wails". I said thanks,oh and thanks for beating my a$$ he smiled.

I've had similar problems with just about every nice car I've owned, and have posted several times about run-ins. These days I'm just content too adjust my Oakleys, smile and let them on their merry way....

 

People want to race you... in your Sedan... what external mods do you have?

I'd LOVE for someone to seek out some action with me but it never happens, even when I look for it. I'll pull up to some dude in a riced out Civic or some dude with a mullet in his Mustang and they don't ever bite.

had a dodge dakota 5.9 bite on me yesterday. He must not have been tuned correctly or something else was wrong but I played with him until about 4000 rpm's in first gear then nailed, hit second perfectly and was 2-3 carlengths ahead by 40 mph. Normally they run me much closer than that. I normally get about 1 carlength if that much on those 5.9's.

He had been all macho the light before, sliding his back end around thru a traffic light but he didn't catch upafterwards even when I slowed to 30 mph to talk to him. He had his girlfriend on the passenger side which is where I was.

watch out for some of those SI's. If you race one go all out every time, cause if they have a B18(b?) swap in em they are high 13 second cars and will embarass you.

I get that every once in awhile. I usually just let them go and laugh. It's not worth getting a ticket or into an accident just for the satisfaction of smokin' some moron.

 

I usually just laugh at them, them and their car with the yellow body kits, LOL, saw one here, the front was yellow, rear was white, hood was another color, car was red, guess they think that looks cool, yeah right!!
