I like the paddles. Nice upgrade.

I thought they sold an aftermarket kit though for the first gen sedan/coupe?

They do and I've got them. Very easy install and work great, but his setup looks nicer though install would be a lot more involved.

^^ Gotta get me some of those. They'd look nice in my graphite interior.

Sucks that Dave's kit doesn't work for those of us with the Int. key. Only works on the manually adjustable steering wheels.

4DR, I believe Dave's are the Bell Works brand.

Thanks Dave. Those still look really nice though. I may end up doing that down the line. Glad to hear the install isn't too difficult.

Like Blue said, they're the Works Bell paddle shifter kit and it's about $400. http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...or&prodid=2835 Not cheap, but I use them daily and they're one of my favorite mods. Install is very easy and all it requires is 4 hole drilled into the lower steering column cover. IMO, they really do improve the driving experience of the 5AT. Here a couple of short videos showing the placement and action. They only require about 1/8 of movement engage the shift.

I had looked into the works bell shifters, but didn't want to go with the carbon fiber look since I have the black/silver interior. I had considered painting them black, but then the cost of everything total was also another factor. I found a set of factory paddles and said what the hell, I don't mind cutting my car up in the name of science! The cost in the end was under half of the works bell ones before getting them painted, and was more time consuming rather than difficult. That being said, I have been doing custom work on cars for 17 years and have the tools to do it.
