Stillen Y pipe

Do you guys think this Y pipe will fit the X model? I think it would except for that support bar, Maybe I can have it rerouted.

you really do not even need that bar. my aftermarket y pipe doesnt have anything connnecting the 2 sides and its doing just fine. i would just cut it off if its in the way

Yeah I was thinking that if I had to, I could just cut that bar too but a little support is never a bad thing

Your HFCs are going to hate life without Y-pipe flex sections. Expect an increase in NVH as well.

Edit, looked it up. So why would it be a big deal?

You're probably better off scavenging up a HR y-pipe

I agree that would be the best solution, but I'm getting a bit impatient, since shipping would be retarded high. And none can be found locally

you want there to be some kind of flex point otherwise the hfc are going to crack. everything will be to stiff

Shipping shouldn't be anymore than $20-25. Mine was shipped to me via UPS and I know the shipper could have saved some cash using USPS. You'll be far happier with the HR y-pipe or saving up for the even better MD XYZ pipe. If you're going to do it, do it right. That Stillen pipe will most likely result in sluggish low rpm performance, and worse, more NVH and could potentially overstress HFCs and break the welds. The flex sections are there to allow for engine and exhaust movement and to reduce vibration.

Why even bother with this? X already comes with a "Y pipe". Any minor differences wont give you any type of improvement.

<punches chicago in the face>

all g35s come with a Y-pipe...he wants performance out of it.

Dunno if the XYZ pipe fits the X or not...might fall out of your price range too, but its the best.

Good lookin out Gi$Gangsta, Just so everyone knows, I'm not looking to gain mad power or anything, just want a good clean sounding exhaust. That being said I'm not really willing to shell out for the XYZ. Maybe when I get a 6 speed sedan my budget will go up, but the X will be a budget build for sure.
