I have an 03 G sedan with the doggy door trunk. How difficult is it to swap out the trunk lid with on from a non doggy trunk lid? any different wiring things or anything? thanks alot

^I havn't done it yet, but from what I understand, you'll have to wire the trunk release button somewhere else (such as by your VDC button) or do away with it and use your remote. This question has actually come up quite recently.

Just use the keyfob to open the trunk. As posted in the other thread, you can buy a switch for an 04 and wire it up. I did that but I wired it to the trunk release power button in the glove compartment. Other than that, just remove the wiring harness and emergency pull cables from your existing lid and run them through an 03.5 on up lid.

Another option would to be a swap to an 05 rear bumper and wire up to the button on it.

Oh...if you are interested in the trunk release switch....go here...but give them a call to make sure you are getting the right part. On a quick search, I came across a SWITCH ASSY-TRUNK OP for an 04-07 but I'm not sure if that is the part we are talking about or not.

It's cheaper to just take it to the shop and have a piece of metal welded in and repainted.
