Fogging of clock/temp display

The plastic covering the temp display, compass and clock has spotting and fogging that looks like overspray from something has discolored it. I only use Aerospace protectant on the interior and never spray directly on the dash anyway. My daughter may have used something else when she cleaned the interior but I don't know. I have tried wiping it and even polishing it with a polish I use on my headlights (Zymol HD cleanse) but it won't come off. Has anyone seen this? It bugs me enough that I want to replace the plastic cover if I have to. Any idea how hard it would be to do this? It looks like there is a small piece to the dash right above that could come off. Thanks! (2005 G35 sedan)

You can pop off the whole thing with a flathead screw driver, and maybe you just need to clean the inside of the plastic

^You can get it off easy. Should be able to pick up one from LKQ on ebay for around $75
But before you replace it I would try taking it out and polishing the outside with PlastX and a buffer.

Can you guys explain exactly how I should take off the plastic piece? It looks pretty fragile and there is like a rim where the clock is inset. I don't want to make it worse or break it taking it out. Thanks.

The trim bezel just prys off. It's one of those 'gentle but firm' kinda things.
After you get it off, the entire display comes out with a few bolts.
You shouldn't need to do anything to the inside of the part, as it is not damaged. Just be careful with it when you're polishing it.

you don't take out the plastic you take out the whole bezel, you can pry it off with a flat head screwdriver
