Thumbs up air bag light by climate control

Like it says, this stupid a$$ light comes on every now and then and
i cant figure out how to turn it off. i just bought my g last week and I LOVE IT. I have the x so its great in the snow, i got it for 16.5 with 55k on it. Not too bad at all, i got a warranty till 100k. Its diamond graphite in color. Also is this gas mileage normal? Basucally all city just over 200-220 to the tank?
live in suburbs of chicago.

This thing is fast too, anyone take down any wrxs with it? non sti of course? My buddy has a mazdaspeed you think i would beat him? just q's ive been wondering. any help with that light though would be sweet.

its the sensor for the passenger side air bag. If you have things in the seat that it doesnt read as a person it comes on.... or sometimes if its empty...

If you do a search, you'll find the procedure to reset the light. If that doesn't work I would take it in and get it fixed before the warranty expires. dealer wants 2k to fix mine.

If nobody is in the pass seat, the airbag OFF light comes on. It's a safety feature. The pass seat has a weight sensor. Less than 40 pounds and airbag is OFF.

Unfortunately mine doesn't work right. My pass airbag is always on. Dealer replaced the pass seat, it didn't fix it, and now they insist "It's working right" and yet can't demonstrate a situation to cause the airbag OFF light to go on.

That's odd. Mine is a little touchy sometimes, but it always shows as being off when the seat is empty. Every now and then it will randomly turn off when my wife is sitting there. She's pretty small, but not 40 lbs small. The sensor must be fairly sensitive to how you are sitting in the seat.

Well, they replace my pass seat, and it still doesn't work right.

Once in a while, the OFF light will flick on for 2 mins and shut off...did this with both old and new seat.

I'm convinced the prob is elsewhere but the dealer insists it works fine.

Well, i have an 06 coupe and the only time my pass air bag light is on is when i have somthing that is light weighted in the pass seat,

Other than that if somebody is there or if its empty the light is always off

Its weird cause i tried an 05 sedan, and if the seat was empty, the air bag off light was out

I would. They have the means to test to see if there is an intermittent fault.
