Thanks. Nissan quoted me $99.95 + tax and the local shop quoted me $90 including tax for either the S-matic or the Amsoil.

Might as well just put the Amsoil in and give the local guys the business I think - unless anyone has had any issues with Amsoil transmission fluid?

If you want to keep the warranty, use the nissan fluid. It's been discussed a lot on this forum before. If you want to use the amsoil, just wait to after 70k miles, but I'd stick with the OEM just to be safe.

If you search, you'll find much talk about never using anything other than the nissan fluid. However, many also say that other fluids that meet or exceed the specs on the nissan fluid is ok.

I just play it safe and stick with the S-matic. $90 is not a bad deal.

Good thinking about keeping the OEM fluid - I have had a look at those threads.

OEM it will be then. I have a factory warranty through to 2013 and have already had a few claims. The local Infiniti dealer will do anything on earth to avoid honoring a warranty claim - the 'wrong' ATF would be just up his alley if something bad happened...
