crazy fuel consumption on my 03 sedan...
i've had my G for nearly one and a half years and i love it. it was running ok with 15L/100km at the beginning, i knew it's a 3.5 V6 and that VQ is not good on gas blah blah blah. but recently it's drinking up gas like crazy! 20L/km and im not even pushing it hard! rarely exceed 3000rpm!!! i just dont know what the hell is going on right now, like a V6 engine consuming fuel like a V10? it's pissing me off...
should i be checking anything over? i honestly dont wanna take it to the dealership cuz those dumbasses will only give me answers like oh it's got a V6 engine and maybe it's the way you drive it...
ps: it's the doggy door sedan, just in case any doggy door owners have the same problem as i do, i would feel better if there is tho...

Well if it only has 60,000kms on it, than it's probably not even the spark plugs because they're supposed to be good up until 100,000kms . Air filter sounds more like it. Just change the filter and if it's still drinking gas like a pig than try the MAF cleaning. Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) is one of the components of an electronic fuel injection system and is installed inside the intake air duct between the air filter and the motor. It is used to measure the amount of air entering the engine, and that measurement is used by the engine computer or ECM to calculate the proper amount of fuel injected into the cylinders to provide optimum combustion and low emissions.
But normally when a MAF is damaged or if it is dirty, it can possibly cause a wide range of problems such as stalling especially when the motor is cold, misfiring, poor acceleration, etc.
In addition, have you noticed your "check engine" light in the instrument panel to turn on?

The MAF is a delicate piece of equipment so just be careful on how you clean it because if you damage it, it's pretty expensive to replace it. But sorry i don't know how much it costs to get it checked and fixed because I have never taken my car to have it cleaned. I just cleaned it myself.

I have nav it tells me, I have never seen my car go over 13L/100km... except when I got my exhaust and intake done.
Changing your plugs might be a good idea to see if there is any oil on them. If there is you could be in for trouble. I say change your intake filter and see how that goes before doing anything series.

Cleaning the MAF is easy. Basically you just go to radio shack and get electronics cleaner and spray down the filament wires inside the MAF.
Usually guys who put K&N's on and overoil them get their MAF wires coated in oil affecting the readings.
Also, an ECU reset might be a good idea, but i'd see if any codes were stored first
HOWEVER...if you are still covered under warranty, don't do a thing...take it to dealer

i'm covered under an extended warranty, which would not be helpful in my case...
how to read codes stored in the ECU? and how to reset it? i've read several threads regarding how to reset ECUs but they all use different methods, and most of them are not for doggy 03's since doggies have older ECU, correct me if im wrong
