Windshield wiper stutter?

So when I use the "mist" option or the interval option when using my wipers... I get this small stutter when the blades are returning back down to the static position. It stops when the wipers are on low or any faster... any one else have this problem? It's pretty annoying and I reallly want to fix it!

Not 100% on what your talking about, but if it's gripping on the windshield try washing, polishing, and waxing the windshield. My wipers used to sputter until I did that. Plus you would have better clarity in the rain as the water would bead off while you drive.

Well, i'm not a complete newb... I know that much.. I wax all my glass. It's just one stutter once it gets almost back to the normal position. Ive looked it up and it looks like its some sort of replaceable arm thats part of the "transmission" of the wiper assembly that is designed to break under heavy loads of ice or snow so you don't burn up the wiper motor. Pretty neat idea. $20 in parts

Oh, I know what your saying now. Isn't that stutter normal? Isn't that the wiper 'calibrating' to flush into the reservoir is tucks away in?

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same type of stutter. This is only when I "mist" or when it's on interval. I know what you're talking about and that's relatively quiet and normal. This is much louder and doesn't always do it. Like I said, I believe I solved the problem from a previous thread by searching google. Thank god for sites like this!

yes...on slow speeds is when it first is noticeable. it will get worse and you will start to get slapping of the blades when it does return down.

There are 4 or 5 plastic tabs and you probably have just 1 thats broken. When you have 2 your issues get much worse.

Spend a few min and follow the DIY I made. take it apart and find out which link you need. Shouldn't take long at all.

Mine does the exact stupid thing. I just assumed it was caused by the cold because it only happens on cold days. It does the stutter just as the wipers are about to stop wiping. But if that's the case, I gonna take a look into that.
