Oh yeh bro. Lots of torque in V8's. In previous cars like my '94 Mustang GT and an older '68 BB Auto Shelby, it's easy to chirp the tires btw 1 & 2. The line pressure on those trannies was high for snappy shifting but lousy for comfort and longevity.

You might be able to do it if you disable the traction control.
As long as traction control is on, it won't let the tires slip. Even on the 6MT it will reduce power when you shift hard from 1st to 2nd. With it off I can rip it up tho

Re: 5AT Sedan, chirp 1st to 2nd?
The fact of the matter is, is that our "tiptronic" lags so much. It's not responsive to the shift at all. I drove a Mazda 6 the other day and the "tiptronic" shifting was so much more responsive with much less delay than our precious G35's. I feel that Infiniti needs to tune this up even if they are a luxury car manufacture.
It's still a G thang!!

Scoop, I've got the G/K installed and it had no effect on shifting. It's gonna need reprogramming of the TCM to change the shifting and an increase in line pressure to have any effect.
When I go in for my Spring checkup I'll ask my bud there about it. L8r......

I've heard the FX35/45's automanual is the same unit as our G35's, but has been reprogrammed to make snappier shifts. This would indicate to me that it is possible for a chip to fix our transmission woes. Maybe NISMO will provide something when they finally hit our shores.
