I found the same info on that. I try to feather the throttle slightly to avoid that bang, but sometimes if Im pissed and driving fast, it just slams anyway, doesnt seem to have any negative effect, other than my tendency to let off the throttle for a second afterward.. <- dont know why I still do that, but I dont like it slamming into gear particularly i guess

In auto it shifts just perfectly fine everytime.

I don't like it either really. In fact i find myself avoiding doing it now because of it. Such a pity though because when it's 10 degrees outside, 2nd gear pulls hard!
