I had a 09 37 loaner and that thing is fast. I don't like the Steering wheel though, it feels cheap. Other than that I'm getting one.

Ok took this bad boy out on the highway, and I have a new found respect for this car. I was completely wrong on how fast this car was (city driving doesn't do justice). You really don't feel much difference until you get to the upper powerband and the 7 speed AT helps when passing on the highway! The sounds mean too, most of the sound is emitted from the engine rather than the exhaust.

I like the exhaust note. It was a very raspy tone that kinda reminded me a little of a Porsche exhaust

^+1 your right, I felt the same, my friend has a Porsche and the G37X sounds like its little step sister.

Glad you now saw the potential/power in this car. I had an '09X loaner for 2.5 weeks and after getting back into my '04, I felt like I was driving a Jetta (size wise)...the '04's have much less room and are quite smaller than the '09's.

For everyone's info, the 2nd gen G sedan is really no larger than the 1st gen. Same wheelbase and the all other diminisions (shoulder, head, leg room) are within tenths of an inch.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. You posted in the drag section that on the same day, your 05 ran a 14.7@96mph, your 08X was doing 14.3-14.4s@98mph. Seeing that your 60 foots were pretty dismal (2.4s), your 05 would be running the same ETs as the X if you could get your 60 foots into the low 2.2 60' range. I'm not sure where you got this 1 second difference from.

I'm not trying to say these 1st gen cars are better than the 2nd gen cars, but the difference in acceleration is not as huge as many are stating in this thread.

I said almost a second. Mine ran a 14.7 for one run though and I even did a 15.1 for a couple

That car runs away from mine every time i race it. I don't think i could get my car anywhere near that thing.... the only way i can get close is from a roll. Off the line he just launches and away it goes. If mine was an X, i could probably get closer.

But the '08 is still using the 3.5L. The sedan didn't get the 3.7 til '09. One of my loaners was an '08...and there was a huge difference in acceleration between the '08 and '09 i later had.

I remember my exact thoughts when i compared the '08 to my '06 when i got it. I said "It's faster, but not really by much"

When i got an '09, i said "Holy **** i need one of these!"
