Someone broke into my car and now I have to replace the passenger window

So I was walking to my car clearing off the snow on the drivers side when I walked to the other side and noticed someone had bashed my passenger side window open. I know the picture is sort of worthless, but you could almost imagine how sh!tty it feels when its snowing IN your car! For some odd reason, nothing was stolen. I had a GPS in the top compartment of the climate control system and I had a radar detector in the compartment above the glove box. No one bothered opening them up so I lucked out. Also, the neighborhood has a very low crime rate so it's even more shocking. My insurance will cover the repair, but they are setting it up with a third party not Infiniti. I can go through Infiniti, but I would have to pay out of pocket and then later be reimbursed. It would also take a couple days and I also don't want to risk my car being vulnerable for longer than it has to considering I have a plastic bag protecting it from any further snow entering the car.

yea man i feel ya.

a lot of times its not for theif its for stupid gang initiations type of crap. break car/house window.

in most cases owners get screwed because of higher deducts. I have a $250 deduct. smash my stuff and its most likely costing me out of pocket as windows cost less then $250.

That sucks man.

Not to make excuses for anyone, but are you sure it was broken by a physical person? Is there a chance some ice may have blown off a tree or something nearby and hit the window and shattered it?

I only say that because nothing was taken at all and you said the neighborhood had a low crime rate??

Yeah, I thought of a million scenarios. Had to have been someone since compartments of the car were opened. Could that have been done after lets say a tree branch fell in it? Yes, but doubtful.

There were no other debris on the floor, plus not cold enough for anything to ice over and fall. No broken tree branches etc. My only guess is some kids messing around the neighborhood.

2slick good call... Has anyone had any experience with this before? Anything particular about our cars that I should ensure get looked at? I'm bringing the car to a glass shop so they won't know my car like Infiniti would...

Got my car broken into a while back and they broke in through my rear driverside window. I had tints so it made it easier for the bastards... Well after I got my window replaced I noticed when I use the auto-up function it'll slightly drop back down. Had to take it to infiniti to get that window reprogrammed.
