If they already dropped 2700 offer them 2500 and take it. For that kind of money you can throw it away if there is an epic fail somewhere on the G. Good luck but i would take the above advice and go for a different car that is under 100K in that price range. My ride is a 2003.5 and it hasn't crossed 45K yet and things go worng/regular maintenance even on that adds up. GLWB

For $3K, it may be worth it, as long as you know what you're getting in to with maintenance and replacing wear/tear parts....

for 3 k thats sounds great but you cant help wondering if he dropped 2.7k off so easily it might sound a bit doggy
i would honestly look for one with alot less miles
i bought my 04 with 90k for 10k and almost 100k now and no problems at all
but for 3k with maintenence id jump on it hell you might be able to part it out for more when your done

I'd buy it for $3k. You could probably sell it for parts and get the majority of money back at that price.

You'll have to replace a lot of bushings and stuff I'm sure. Thats a lot of miles but if it runs thats a victory.

It needs work.

So, I just got back from the dealership and didn't buy it for $3000. I didn't buy it at all. After learning more about it's history and learning that it's been driven by a teenager for the past 5 years and no maintanence records were kept, I took it out for a test drive and it needs a lot of work. There's an oil leak, needs new brakes AND new rotors, needs a new front and back bumper, and the center console needs entirely replaced. All in all it was going to be between $3000 and $5000 for repairs. At a total of $6000 to $8000 for the car I figured it was just plain and simply too much.

I have to say though, this is probably the 30th G35 I've test driven and for 200k miles it still has all the power and soul of a G35, that's why I love these cars so much!

Thanks for everyones help and advice, I'm still looking to buy a G35 soon!

save up more money. don't force buying a nice car for a cheap price. sh*t starts to go wrong for any cars with that high of a mileage.

Yeah, the teenager thing is a red flag, but the oil leak and bad brakes aren't really that big of a deal. What happened to the bumpers? Was it wrecked?

idk a teenager being abusive would be the least of my worries if i was looking at a car like that...it be thrilled if it moved foward without blowing smoke...no wonder you have test driven 30 g's if you are this picky about the cheapest intact one ive ever heard of..lol
