well idk my bro bought a 2003 vibe gt for $2200 with 175k...it had some issues but its been pretty reliable...he towed a trailer to from LI to DC and back twice and from LI to Binghamton. the VVTL-i solinoid filter was clogged with gunk because they never changed the oil and the whole engine was nasty inside, but a few oil changes, some seafoam, some kerosine for the solinoid filter and the thing revs to 8300 like a champ...looks like **** though..lol. He also had an SC300 with 180k...that ran pretty good but it was all ghetto moded out so the wiring was a nightmare but it was a pretty stout car. My friend had a 98 maxima with over 200k that he was running a 100 shot of n2o in...ran a 13.9 and was also pretty reliable considering he is an insanly abusive driver so idk...high mileage isnt the end of the world for japanese cars anyway..

my bro's 04 gto with 70k blew a head gasket..lol

+1 i would grab it in a heartbeat. misc maintenance items are easy to replace/fix by anyone with general automotive knowledge. like stated above, a new motor can be had for less than 2500 bucks. i would take my chances and drive it like it were new. worst that can happen is you pay a tow bill and part it out and actually make money on the whole deal!

^Highest mi SEDAN. I think there's a coupe on here with 230 something

^If you got them to $3000, jump on it. Even if you only get a few thousand out of it, that would be awesome.
Plus, you would be our hero if you kept everyone up-to-date on how the car is doing. (Gives us a look into the future )

no one in here can vouche for 200,000 miles. I just bought one with 100,000 and i need new bearings, diff fluid, coolant flush, plugs, rear brakes, audio control finisher was fried. Still did it through. The thing is, at 100,000 miles, you know what maintainance the car needs to last. At 200,000 miles, that moment has passed a couple times over. I wouldn't pay over 4,500 if it was me. I paid 7,500 for an 03 sedan with half your miles.

No, i did all of that myself. Amsoil diff 75-90 oil change, oil change, plugs, JDM Double Din install, PAC interface, Subs, Amp, rear view camera, bulbs, leather conditioning treatment. I decided to have the mechanic do the bearings and the brakes. The thing is at 200,000 miles. You have no idea what needs a changin, thats when everything is vulnerable. I'd buy it though, it's a nice lookin car for the dollar. I think you can negotiate. When a guy drives a car 200,000 miles, he pretty much gives up hope of getting any resale value out of it. That car is going to be very difficult for him to sell. Don't low ball him but I'd want to pay a little under five grand. Tell him about your concerns with possible future maintainance issues. Tell him 4500 and close at 4700.

Yeah, that was my thoughts too.
An existing G35 owner would probably buy a $3000 G35 just for spare parts
