Service Engine Soon light, high rpm idle after throttle body cleaning
Yes, I've reset my ECU and gone through the relearning procedures. Works for one minute then the SES light comes back on and the engine idles at around 1,100 rpm. Today I took apart my plenum (upper and lower) with intentions of installing a kinetix manifold, but had to scrap the idea. Put everything back together and had this problem. One thing to note was that I left the plug near the airbox out. I then shut the car off, plugged it in, still had the SES light, researched and ran the reset procedures. Anyone have any ideas? I hope I don't need a new throttle body... I did clean it by spraying degreaser on a rag and rubbing it down. I'm off to the dealer on Monday to get ripped off...
you killed your TB.
same thing happened to me.
You can try letting it relearn idle for a longer period of time (4-5 min) but if it doesn't take by about 90 sec then you probably killed it.
