lowball offer from infiniti dealer

I am another owner of a 2006 g35 sedan 6spd woth the dreaded oil consumption problem. I am now on the second replacement motor and I decided to look into trading my g35 for a 2010 g37. My car has been meticulously maintained with all services done by said dealer. THe paint is great being waxed every 2-3 months and the interior is impeccable. Mileage is 31.5k.....

The freakin dealer told me my car is worth 12k because of the fact the motor has been replaced twice (as if its my fault)......

So essentialy, now Im screwed because if that is the price Im getting for my car, im upside down.....but even if i pay it off and trade it in I will be getting royaly screwed.

What can I do ? How am I responsible for manufacturing defects indicated thru multiple TSBs ?

That's why they're called Stealerships...they only want your trade if they can get it for next to nothing.

Yeah, go private.

With a revup, there's no need to change the oil. Simply add.

Unless I'm missing something, why can't you just go to a different dealership (if you want to trade it in)?

Sell it privately. Never trade in.

Just finish the deal on the new one before even mentioning trading in the old one.

It sucks doesn't it. The dealer bent me over sooo many times. I went to buy an 06 with 35,000 miles. The price was $27,000 at the end of 09'. Yes I bought it (Stupid I know). I traded in my E36 M3 and my 2005 Jeep Liberty. The M3 was in GREAT condition with BRAND NEW brakes, suspension, cams, pistons, rods, mounts, joints, EVERYTHING. The only thing I did not replace was the transmission (It was traded in before actually racing it). The Liberty was loaded with leather and navigation. Well they ONLY gave me $12,000 for both. I came back the next day to pay off the balance of the car and I saw the M3 sitting pretty for $12,600. I laughed to myself then almost cried. That M3 was one of the best cars I have EVER drove. It blew the doors of the G35.

^ Wow......did you buy out of necessity or what?

I bought my 2006 in September 2007 wasn't even that much - with no trade-in mind you - and it's loaded with everything & had only 16k miles. Why did you trade in what sounds like two perfectly good cars for the G?

Though I do not care for dealerships, they are a business in the end and have their own bottom line to think of.

It takes two to tango.

An 06 was just newer and had a certified pre owned warrenty on it. You got a great deal on your car then! The Jeep is the worst car I have EVER driven so that deserved to go. The M on the other hand; im kicking myself in the butt. The dealer was nice enough to give me $1,000 off though . We buy a new QX there every year or two too, I should have negotiated more. But being 19 walking into a dealership alone, I can't expect much. I lived and learned. Oh well.

Wow, no offense, but you're a dealership's dream customer. Next time make sure you bring lube. Probably won't hurt so much.
