Why does my car Hesitate??

Almost every day at some point when i go from reverse to drive my car hesitates for a second, I hit the gas when i go from reverse to drive and it moves forward 1-2 feet, then it feels like it cuts power for about .5 seconds and then resumes normal, Anyone else having this issue? or is it a sign of something to fail in the near future?

I have noticed that my car doesnt shift instantly, but takes a good second or two. Might just be a characteristic of the transmission though.

I wish i had a manual. Instead of a whole tranny to replace, you just do clutches. No more hesitant ****.

Idk how to fix it. My friends tranny jerks on his G20 and the dealer says its fine and just a characteristic of the car. So i am going to assume mine is just like that as well. It shifts fine fromg ear to gear. Just R to D is kinda slow.

It's a safety feature to prolong the life of your tranny and it also has something to do with the fact when you do a R to D, the tranny fluid is usually cold or cool because the car has been parked for a while. It's very hard on the tranny to instantly accelerate when you go from R to D therefore the Nissan engineers devised a way to save your tranny from you. Lots of newer cars do this. Plus, there are pumps and other moving parts therefore the response isn't going to be instant going from reverse to forward.
