They've been painted and sitting around for over a week, and won't be installed for at least another couple of weeks. They're not on the car yet, so I had the luxury of taking my time. I just don't want it chipping off later and having to repaint them. From what I've seen so far, I think I'm going to put a clear coat on them. That shine is very nice.

If you like the way it looks keep it

And the duplicolor paint is really bad.

The G2 paint is worth the extra $15

The bracket on the top in the picture (shiney one) is the one i worked on for a while, did you guys make them like that before painting?
Any tips you guys have?
Use a dremel with the wire brush wheel. Try both carbide and brass wheel. Make sure you use beake cleaner before and after. Also, pull them completely apart if you can.

the red looks perfectly fine. Let it be till the paint fades away.

The tires on the other hand are a no go for me at the 30 sidewall. 265 is fine for 280hp. I have 265/40's

A lot of you guys are somewhat acting like SNOOBS.

They OP did some work on his car. He didn't pay anyone to do it. The quality of the work looks great. Who really cares about the color? He liked it and really thats all that matters. I like his car, next time around i would suggest he get a bigger sidewall. Even with the drop its going to look really high. Plus a bigger sidewall will cushion the ride more.

I dont think you will need to get your fenders rolled with a 30 sidewall. I i rubbed a LITTLE if i had 100lbs in the rear of my X on Z springs. which lower my AWD 1.25-1.5 inches. VS your 1.0 inch. There was a guy with a RWD who rubbed just a bit on 35 sidewall. He did a quick homemade roll and done. So your 30 should be OK. when you go to 35 sidewall you will need it then.

I completely understand when you gotta deal you make that work. Only reason why i have my 265/40 in the rear of my AWD.

Nice work, the silver looks really good. Glad to see you painted the rotor hats too. A friend of mine has an RX-7 and he painted the rotor hats, dust shield, and calipers silver. Looks really good against his red car and black wheels. I painted everything black because I thought I already had too much silver going on with the Coupe 18's on my DG Sedan.

Looks like you got quite a bit of paint on the rubber boots. I'd suggest taping them off next time before painting. Probably won't cause a problem, but they could lose some of their flexibility over time. May even dry out a little quicker. Just make sure you check them every 6 months to a year (as you should normally).

BTW, they look good.

but im think the drop should be around 2'' .... i never have any weight in the back beside like 50 pounds of tools for work in the truck ... so i should be fine lowering it ... i have 350z tein s-techs ... and a 35offset in the rear which puts me right on the fender perfect .. so you think once i drio it the normal camber will push it close enough inside the fender well and just get a nice camber kit for the rear and once i do put some 35's on the back roll it ???????

i no everyone is saying 4x4 high and stuff and it looks really tall .... i think the way the camera angle made it look higher i don't no cause in the pic it looks like 4'' lift is on it but i just went outside and i can put 3 fingers in the rear fender well and my 3 fingers are tight from the top of fender to the top of my tire ... so its like 2'' high in rear
