Headlight restoration! (tried searching no luck)

I have found this restoration kit from 3M, and I tried it on one of my headlights, it actually made it worse....is there anything I can do to my current headlights to shine them up?
There are headlights on ebay for $100 or whatever but they're only halogen no HID which sucks! What should I do? Mine look like faded, and make the car look old and ****ty!

03 Sedan!

Thanks!

But Which restoration kit did you get from 3m? The one with the sanding discs?

I guess I'm an idiot lol cus I swear I searched and could not find anything....yeah it's the one with the discs and I got so scared cus I followed their instructions, and it got all foggy, but then it came back, and I did it exactly how they wanted it, but it's nothing better, actually the one I did not do looks better.

^ Is your drill rated for 1000 rpm? I used the kit it helped alot. Did you use Sanding discs according to the directions? Did you use the polishing pad with the Polish?

I think that's where I screwed up, I used a lot faster spinning drill......

What if I buy another kit and do i again, will it hurt?

Well I am not sure how a faster spinning drill would work but, It lists the optimal RPM range for the product. It should clear your lens up if its the normal hazing on the outside.

Rather than buy another kit, maybe post up in the Cdn section to find someone with a Porter Cable polisher (should be a member in your area SOMEwhere) and just get them to polish up your headlights with some medium-cut car polish. Works great, IF, as SS says, the hazing is on the outside.

If he sanded his lens correctly and it did not work then polish will definitely not work.

You may be right, and if he sanded it incorrectly, it may not be correctable with a polish. Hard to tell without seeing good pics.

IMHO, this work needs a rotary polisher and not an orbital.
