Removing stainless pillar trim
Removing stainless pillar trim
Hey guys, so the previous owner applied those stainless steel/chrome pieces of trim over the B pillar. I'm not a huge fan. I mean, it looks okay since its a white car, and the door handles are chrome, etc, but its just not my taste. I've been wanting to remove it, especially now that I am getting the windows tinted finally. Any of you ever had these and perhaps removed them. I understand its just 3M double stick, but Im afraid it may damage the pillar trim/paint underneath, and then look even worse than the chrome trim this last owner put on there. Any experience?
Put smoked overlays over it - match tinted windows... might look cool.
I would do that to see how it looks before removing (it would be one of a kind and might be worth it)

^If you do that, either smoke it really dark, or smoke the other window chrome to match.
But yeah, Mike has a point. You could experiment before you take it off.

^^^ or do a light tint to achieve a black-chrome affect... but then the window trim and door handles would have to be done...
I think trying to match the windows would be best first attempt...
