You bring up good points. Sometimes I want to trade mine in for an STI.

I haven't had my G35 long enough to even go through a full tank so can't comment on its average mpg but my other car gets 14 mpg city and 21 highway with its 440 HP and 4200+ lbs curb weight. (which is decent for what it is)

It's always dangerous to buy/sell a car solely on fuel economy. So let's say you get a small car that gets great mpg like a Civic for example. Will the savings per week make up for the difference in power, luxury and overall "value for money"? Let's say you save $20-$30 a week in gas. Is that worth the hit you'll take when getting rid of your car/buying a new one, not to mention the driving experience as I mentioned?

My friend has a GTI but it gives him a lot of problems. VW is not the answer. I feel ya on the gas though (not literally).

That same thought has gone through my head before, but I know I wouldn't get a fair price for it if sold.

Sent you a PM btw.

In my specific case, the G35 is not proving very practical. I am hauling 4-5 people ona regular basic (and still maintaining a spot free interior, thank you very much and this is also the reason my car is no longer low) and am also filling my trunk to the top.

I have been thinking about selling my car and most likely will some time this summer or within the year. My car has just become too small.

If i dont move up to an 07 sedan, i'll probably go with a next step up sedan. Like a 530xi, M35x, or an A6. I have also contemplated getting an SUV such as a Saab 9-7x with the 5.3 or a GMC Envoy Denali. Something that i can use to tow with in the summer (i dont even drive my car during the week in the summer... i work/live/sleep out of our pickup truck as it can tow my trailers...)

Sorry for ranting in your thread, i just dont know what to do LOL my car has become so impractical (i am so fricken happy i didn't buy a coupe. I would be royally biting myself in the *** right about now if i did.)

Janik, those are good reasons to reconsider. Plus you have a winter at school to think about. I'd not even buy anythng remotely new until you get school out of the way.

I commute daily with my TSX, probably put on about 3000 Hwy miles a month on it and get 35 MPG hwy.

When I get back on the G, the torque still makes my PP move. It's just a different car. def. a beast compared to the choices you were commuting around in.

it's kinda like dating 2 women at once. You got that housewife one that cooks, cleans, packs you lunch, and dependable whenever you need her, and you got that hot sexy crazy in bed one. LOLOL

I'd like to keep my budget around 20k. My dad wont let me go any older than what i already have (05) as hes afraid that its going to get into the mileage range where things need to start getting replaced.

I was looking at Envoy Denalis the other night and i can get an 07 with 20-35k on it for 19grand (gotta love domestic resale) so im not sure. That seems like a good bet. A 4X4 vehicle would be nice in the snow, and a 7k towing capacity could also be utilized come summer.

So many options.

The real trick is to find the all-in-one woman. Way better than two.

don't get me wrong, I was referring to cars.

My gf is a perfect combo of the two.

But when it comes down to cars...

The OP can't expect his G to give him great MPGs like the Camry, and he can't expect his Camry to drive like a sport sedan. LOL

Indeed

It's always nice to have options. I love having a V6, super handling, AWD sports sedan which is a blast to drive everyday, and a big honking head/cammed V8 stationwagon with a nasty attitude that handles like a bus but can haul a small fridge home from Home Depot and blow the doors off most cars on the road.

I need a bicycle, however. Gotta love the mpg on those.

Close. Magnum R/T with performance heads, aftermarket cam and headers. Making roughly 380 RWHP. Fast, versatile like the best of them, and gets ok miles per gallon for its size and power output.

I think i went through this stage before. I cured it by modding the hell out of it. LOL

It even helps when you do something simple like spending some time with your car and detailing it. It relights the spark.
