New G35 Owner (06 Sedan TB 5AT)

Hi my names Tom, just purchased a 2006 G35 TB 5AT non sport, and wanted to introduce myself! I used this site as a research guide in buying my car, and think i got a great deal (paid 13,900) with 55k on her. The Mod Bug has hit me already! my 5/16ths plenum is already installed, with exhaust on the way, also looking into some paint matched 18's or some oem 18's as my next upgrade!

Any tips would be appreciated! Here she is all bone stock.

Looks nice. Twilight Blue is a sweet color and it sounds like you got a great deal. If I was you, I'd do:

Tint (35% or 20%)
Springs (Z/G or H-Tech)
Wheels (Coupe 18's or 19's)

Those will make the most noticeable difference. There are plenty of other things to do though.

If you go with aftermarket rims you should look at getting something in bronze. They look great on TB's.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm definetely getting a 20% tint all the way around, once the borla kit is installed, I'm gonna try to find some OEM 18" coupe chrome wheels, should look amazing. The difference was pretty noticeable with the spacer, the car felt a little stronger throughout the whole rpm range, i can't recommend getting one enough. I'm by no means a professional mechanic and the whole process took 30 minutes.

wow bro, you got a good deal for the car, must've been a private sale. The dealers would've have easily tried to get $18k+ with that mileage. Don't do the paint matched wheels, you need some contrast. I agree with OKstate, bronze wheels would look good on the TB.
Looking forward to getting the plenum spacer as well for my X.

Tgeml, car looks nice. Very strong starting point. I'm with you on the tint. 20 will look good (I have 16 on mine and I like it)

20% tint is the way to go. Its dark but yet you can still see out of it at night. Once you get tint its like a night and day difference, the car looks so much better

Awesome, i was wondering if i got a good deal or not, the car needs the front bumper redone(its probably fine but i cant stand having even 1 rock chip mark on the front cover!). The car was purchased from a local Cadillac Dealer (Cadillac of novi). They had it listed for 14.9k, i got em down to 13.9k becuase of the front bumper! Now that i have the car, I',m regretting not paying the extra 5k for awd for the winter, I suppose I'll just have to drop about 800 for a used set of 17"s and some blizzaks. Thanks for the awesome welcome again, im so stoked to have something that's fun to drive again!

So I see you've found the hippie lettuce in school. It must be some good **** for you to pull this comment out of your butt.

Lets see:

You-
19" rims
Drop
Aftermarket HU
Front lip spoiler
Rear trunk spoiler
245/40/19 all around
Etc.
Etc.

Him:
Bone stock with a spacer.

Should I go on???

BTW Tom, welcome to the family. Hope you've got money in the bank because you'll need it being a member here. Once the modding begins, it's almost impossible to stop. And since you've already begun..............
