this is my car.

that setup was insanely loud, but OMG it was music to my ears when you went WOT lol

im now running a coupe midpipe with a muffler delete and its definitely a lot quieter and more manageable for daily driving. i will try and make a new video to post up when i have a chance

here are some pics of the tips i used. the whole setup including tips costs me $100 and IMO it sounds and looks better than the HKS muffler which runs around $400.

Looks great Nat! Definitely agree it sounds blissful. Where did you get those tips? I'd search on ebay for different kinds of tips but there's WAAAAY too many duplicates and pages to sort through. The ones I really want are from a W219 CLS....but those are SOOOO expensive.

Inspections very by state. In California the only inspection we have is smog. The way that works is that the car doesn't need to be smogged for 6 years. Then every 2 years it needs to be smogged.

It's good to have a spare OEM muffler that you can just put on. Or you can pay someone that will pass you. If there isn't a visual inspection, I think without a muffler you still may be fine, but I'm not certain on that.

So to take off my muffler i also have to ruin my hangars right?

Then i have to buy some tips maybe something like these?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EXHAU...Q5fAccessories

Then go to a shop and have someone weld pipe to it and also make hangars and an easy way to remove it since in MO we have inspection every two years.

No, you would cut off just the very end of the oem muffler, where it meets the midpipe. The muffler shop will add piping and create hangers for it and weld the tip on as well.

you could use the stock exhaust tips, but it would be a lot easier for the guy at the muffler shop if you just picked a set of premade tips at the shop. tips are not that expensive at all.

heres some shots i have from underneath when i was running a straight pipe from the ypipe back.

i am now running a coupe midpipe and i have the axleback portion flanged just in case i need to put my stock muffler back on.

if you are running a coupe/sedan midpipe, the exhaust is not too loud at all. to be honest i would say it is about as loud as the HKS axleback exhaust. at idle, it is very quiet. regular daily driving barely a hint of drone in the cabin...you wont have any trouble hearing your music at all or carrying on a conversation. i usually come home very late at night and the exhaust is quiet enough that it wont wake the neighbors when i am driving down the block.

Didn't notice too much of a power loss. Just that acceleration wasn't as quick. Loudness, MUCH louder and nicer.
