Click noise when shifing from drive to reverse. 5At

So when im shifting Auto trany from drive to reverse or from reverse to drive i get a click click noise coming from under the car around the rear or center of the car the noise is coming from. and sometimes i put it in park and let off the brake and i get the click noise also? Any ideas what this could be? its a 2005 g35x.

I have a coupe and there is a known "rear axle" click issue. Not sure if this is a known issue on the sedans.

Do a search and see,

I think you are hearing the shift lock solenoid. It's what unlocks the shifter from shifting park when you apply the brake. You can sort of hear it if you just pump the brakes while the car is in park.

Most likely rear axle click. From what I understand it is only annoying and not detrimental to the axle.

My car started doing this every day a while back...but then it went away by it's self. I have yet to have a problem though.

Hey I've been hearing this noise myself for a while now on my '05 coupe. I got in an accident a few years back, thought it might be a slightly bent frame issue. Good to hear it might be something simpler. I also found this on youtube:

rear axles clicking for sure. Common problem for 03-05 sedans. Mine click everyday in the summer time but seems to go away during the winter. Been doing it for the past 20-30K miles. The fix is to regrease the axles, there is a TSB on it somewhere on here.
