Spilled engine oil in back carpet
I'd say soak up as much oil as possible then remove the carpet and put it in the washing machine LOL it should work but I don't suggest washing your clothes in that batch.
You can also try getting those shop vacuums that vacuum water and use it to soak up all the oil then get those rug doctor machines (portable ones) and use it to wash the stain.

I don't know if spraying a carpet full of oil is good for the environment lol. I would just put a bunch of kitty litter on top of the carpet, have it asorb before I wash it all into the gutters. (Fat ticket btw) Then spray with Folex which you can pick up at lowes. Many people vouch for folex.
I had a similiar situation except with car soap lol. Folex will remove the stains, and probably more.

I used gasoline on oil spills on my old rags and such. I dont know if you want to use that, but after you would have used Gas, you can go back over with a cleaner to get the smell out. Id say try a little in a small area to see.
I highly suspect that anything that harsh would also do a good job at taking no only the oil out but the color of the carpet.
