The inside of my car smells like gas

I was messing around underneath the back seat of my X, seeing if i could fit a couple subs back there. I am not that mechanically inclined, so I didnt realise thats where the fuel tank is at. Ever since I opened up the circular panels down there, the inside of my car smells like gas. I'm not sure if it resealed correctly, is there anyway to fix this?

Mine does too on extremely hot days. I think its because of the heat! I think dealership told me a long time ago has something to do with heat expanding the gas tank maybe idk..

I had a small issue with that 2 yrs ago but the dealership fixed it. your interior should NEVER smell like fuel!

Just found out mine was the fuel line from the supercharger that was leaking so that was replaced.

thanks all, i found out what it was when i went to go fill up, after i got to about 3/4 tank, fuel started gushing out from underneath my car, i drove it home and took off the back seat and found out that circular thing in the tank wasnt tightened down all the way

I too have had gas smells inside a 05 G35 Sedan. It only happens on very hot days 100+ and after the car is driven for a while in that heat. It must be coming thru the AC because I turn it off and it gets ok, except we fry in the heat. I can turn it back on after a while and it usually is ok for a while and then happens again. After several of these cycles the smell goes away and is ok. I can't find any leaks when it is happening. Cant smell gas under hood, around filler or outside car, only inside. HELP...this is downright scary. Could catch on fire or cause an explosion, not to mention breathing the fumes. The post below from Las Vegas sounds exactly like mine. Thanks in advance for any help.
