In the DIY video, it looks like 2 people are needed to disconnect the hose. That is pretty difficult since you cant do it by yourself.

I did it on my GF lancer, she didn't comment on it at all. Now she might not be the most sensitive person in the world in terms of driving but the way everyone talks about it, it would make sense she would notice it feel a lot better after 60k.
Mine got legitimately lighter. After 2 changes of fluid it got lighter. Then the 3rd it got a bit more lighter. Then the fourth I felt no more benefit.

On my friends car Mazda 6 and my Dads LS which both were black. We did the fluid change and felt no difference.

So It must just be how the G is set up. My Bro also commented how it felt lighter. He just moves my car rarely so people can get out of the driveway..ect

Didn't notice jack when I did mine....but I've always done it frequently.

You guys are overanalyzing this a tad. Just buy a bottle of ATF, suck the old **** out, pour some new **** in, drive it around a bit to mix the **** around and then do it again til you are out of **** and call it a day.

Mine wasn't difficult at all. Just twisted it back and forth and it pulled right off. I took my wheel off for easier access. You can hold the metal part with your other hand if you are worried about bending it.

Also, like I said, I did notice a difference in the steering afterwards. Not a lot, but it was smoother. Maybe Turtle's GF pays attention to her car more, but my wife would never notice something like that.

Yea, just fill it back up to max cold level and then just repeat a day after driving or what not. The Reservoir has a Air pocket already, its just a tank that holds extra fluid for the system.

Make sure to look at the opening for reservoir, its hard to find a turkey baster that fits lol.
Doing this tonight when I get off work since I finally have time. Did you use a turkey baster? Or something else to suck the fluid out.

I will let you all know how it goes!

What ever you can get into the bottle to the bottom will work. I just use a Syringe with a tube attached to it.

So this might be a dumb question but I'm at kragen and the guy there tells me no no no you don't use mobile 1 ATF for powersteering. You use normal powersteering fluid. So I don't know if I'm brain farting or what but I bought both in case. This is a must do job by the weekend. So your using mobile 1 auto trans fluid for powersteering?I even reference the manual but of course the fluid type wasn't listed. Help please. New to self servicing this new car

you can use Power Steering Fluid or Dexron III compatible fluid which M1 ATF is..

I personally would use the M1 since its compatible with the fluid in there already. But if the Power Steering fluid you bought is too then thats ok too.
