5 second sedan?

Just wondering what it would take to get our cars in the 5 second 0-60 range.

Probably not a whole lot to hit a 5.9 time. Expecially if you are a manual.

Your skill probably plays the biggest part.

Try a 5.3 rearend ratio.

IIRC a stock VQ35HR sedan has a 0-60 time of about 5.5 seconds and VQ37HR sedan is just about 5 seconds.

So I say trade up for a 2nd gen sedan.

^^ Maybe he's looking for a 5-flat 0-60. And he does say 'our cars' not 'what car should I buy to do 5.0'...

I'm gonna go ahead and say you'll need boost for that. I know of a couple cars that probably to a 5.0 0-60 (low-mid 13s 1/4 mi) and they are each running 400whp or more, one with single turbo and one with twins

0-60 times are pretty subjective to begin with. Too many variables come into play..

I personally don't like these what mods do I need to beat a 335, hit a 5 second 0-60, etc threads.

For OP, imo bolt-on mods will not really improve 0-60 times considerably. But you never know, you might be able to pull off somewhere near 5 seconds with full bolt-on's and a tune. However in order to see significant improvement in trap times, you are much better off going FI.

you're 16, you shouldn't even have a car that goes 60 mph.

My 03 5AT sedan did a low 14.3@98mph with a Z-tube. That equates to around a 5.7 0-60 time. These cars already have the capability of "5 second" 0-60s. If you want a 5.0 0-60, get a 6MT, go buy a set of 15" rims, mount some 26" full blown slicks, say and prayer, rev up to 5500rpms, drop the clutch fast, cut a lower 1.8 60', and run a 13.5@101mph STOCK and get a 4.8-5.0 0-60.

If I had a g35 when I was 16...I wouldn't even care about how fast it went.
