Anyone get the airbag recall done yet?

Has anyone gotten the recall notice yet on the airbag issue with the g35? Kinda thought they said fixes would be going on starting in July.

Anyone get a letter yet? Anyone drop in and get it fixed? If so what does the invoice state? What part did they replace? The harness under the seat? Or more?

I have a 05 sedan with the passenger airbag issue - flashing airbag cluster light and does not recognize passenger in the front seat. I have not received a letter regarding the recall. I did call Nissan/Infiniti corporate last week - recorded message will give instructions.

If I remember correctly, the message states that if your airbag cluster light is currently blinking/flashing for the specified models - you can take the car in for repairs. Not sure what you are supposed to do if the passenger airbag is currently operational.

Mine won't go off! The passenger airbag light never comes on except at startup. If the seat is empty, the light stays off meaning the passenger airbag is still on.

The dealer replaced the entire pass seat bottom trying to fix it...which didn't work and then they gave me the "it's working right" speech and yet couldn't make the light come on in my car when I made it come on in another 06 on the lot.

Kinda hoping the recall would fix this

My airbag light is blinking and the Pass airbag off light is lit... I called the dealer and they said that Infiniti has not instructed them on what to do yet and all they can do at this point is to pull the code to see what it is reading

I dropped by yesterday for the this recall and what I believe is the beginning of the end for my fuel pump. The advisor said they were ordering the parts (new connectors) for the airbag and they should be in shortly. I will post up what the invoice shows for part numbers as soon as they call and I drop it off. My light has never come on before in my 06.

I called the 1800 number listed in the Recall, it says people with the issue will receive something in the mail. And thats all I have heard about it.

No letter received here either. Just so I get this straight. When you don't have anyone in the passenger seat, the airbag light is supposed to stay on? My airbag light comes on when i start the car and then goes off a few seconds later regardless of it I have a passanger or not. I never knew this was a problem until i read this thread.

yeah the dealer didnt know anymore than me about it when i asked...but that was ironically 3 days after it hit the news. Was told to take action when I recieve something in the mail. Have not gotten anything either.

Not too worried, theres nothing abnormal going on with mine, airbag light comes on at startup and normally turns off. The pass seat indicator is working too.

It will be interesting to see if I get a call saying the parts are on backorder meaning they did not do anything from the beginning or if they call to schedule an appointment.

It depends on which airbag light you are talking about. The one in the gauge cluster should be off under normal circumstances. The one up by your clock is the light that indicates whether or not the passenger airbag is on or off. This light should stay on unless somebody (or something) over the weight limit is sitting in the seat.

^ The recall only covers if the RED Airbag light is illuminated on your gauge cluster.

If its the one next to the clock thats a separate issue I believe.
