Low Fuel Indicator

Recently, my Low Fuel Indicator light has not been illuminating when my fuel is low. Typically, it turns on when I reach about 320 miles on the tank. However, the few weeks, I've reached 330 and 340 respectively, and the light did not turn on. I do not think that I'm getting that much better MPG, as I average about 22 MPG.

Has anyone else not noticed their fuel light turn on when getting low?

I usually wait for it to light up before re-fueling, but now I've got to pay closer attention - hence why I always reset my trip mileage (tripdometer?) after each refill....

By the way, not sure if this is offered in other states, but in MD, for every $100 you spend at the Giant, you get 10cents off per gallon at Shell stations. The program rolls monthly, so if you spend $300 at the Giant on July 21st, then if you have until August 21st to save 30cents per gallon at shell. All you need is a Giant bonus card (free of course).

I know when the weather gets hotter, the air gets thinner and then you would use less gas...

Did you driving habits change? The fuel you buy? Tune up? Weather? Etc...

Also, if you punch it or go up a hill enough to make the fuel light come on, it won't go back off unless you turn the car off and on.

The Nissan fuel light is notoriously overkill. Mine comes on when I still have 3-4 gal in the tank

It's 4, and I think that is by design. If you fill it right when it comes on it will take 16 gallons.
