usually get between 300-350 and fillup with 17-18 gallons Shell 93 V-power. My avg is about 19MPG with 40% highway and 60% city. Most I've ever seen was 450 but that was all highway.

I fill up at about 1/4 tank left and I usually have gone about 350 miles at that point.
I definitely can get over 400 on a full tank. My commute is about 75% highway, 25% stop and go traffic.
Just filled up this AM and checked mileage, got 24 MPG on the last tank.

But still got 27mpg overall by the time I got home. This is basicly the same engine but FWD. Overall gearing is slightly higher in the Max but not enough to matter. Why is 22mpg the best I can get from my '06 G35x?
- One extra diffential
- A transfer case
- 3 additional drive/half shafts
- Much deeper gearing
All of that can suck out a lot mpgs. I believe the revised EPA highway mpg rating for 1st gen X is now 23mpg.

I know for certain that if I were on a road trip I could easily squeeze 500 miles out of a tank.

Mine's an 04 G35x pretty much stock accept for the wheels. Been getting around 16-21 mpg with mix driving, city speeds varies. Highway speed average 75+. AC always on. I had 20" wheels on. Does that matter? Wheel and tire size I mean? I got rid of those 20" this week an put on 18". Tank still 3/4 full. 10-15 mph is about what my Super Duty is getting.

Thanks for all the help guys. I use shell premium 90% of the time i fill up. I will try to do the half tank fill since i know the G's are prtty heavy and a filled 20 gal tank doesnt help much either. Thanks again.

average of 315 miles in the city, up to 470 miles on the highway. these mileages are before the light comes on, which is when i stop to fill up. typically ~65 litre fills (17 ga).

I've gotten nearly 30mpg (29.9mpg) to be exact going from Atlanta to Vero Beach, FL averaging 60-65mph in 90+ degree weather and a loaded car. I believe when I filled up, the odometer said 520 miles on a crack over 17 gallons added. Originally Posted by broke_as_ajoke

Stop and go kills mpgs, especially in an auto due to torque converter slippage. On the highway, the TC is locked and not bleeding energy.

I did 350 this last week, stock with mixed driving and flooring the throttle at least a couple times a day to get to 65. I dropped a can of 44k in there today so I will see if my next fill up is better. If not, I will invest in k&n cold air intake, plenum spacer, TB spacer, and full exhaust like magnaflow or borla.
