What are the average miles per tank you guys are getting?

I struggle to get 300 miles per tank in my car. I drive about 10-15 miles on a normal day and I would think I would get atleast 17-19 mpg with some city and some highway, sadly though, this is not the case. Even if I;m easy on the gas I still only get a little above 300 miles. Is this how all your cars are or is there something wrong with mine?

It is a bone stock 2004 G35 btw.

Anything will help.

Thanks.

10-15 miles is far enough for your car to warm up but not far enough to get decent gas mileage. i used to get around 350~400 full tank with mix driving.

Also, try using 91 octane gas if it's around. I noticed that I get a lot more mpg with 91 compare to 93.

Nah that seems normal, I have to try to get 300 usually too.
It used to bother me too, but now I just enjoy the car more then worry over a few extra miles.

yep use premium fuel if possible (recommend from Infiniti/Nissan anyway), keep rev's low and slow acceleration and if your serious about getting better MPG consider getting an Osiris tune with a Econ map and drive on econ mode most of the time, its not a miracle worker but it will give a good MPG boost

Driving style playsna huge role. Some days i struggle for 300 per tank. Other days when I feel cheap and try form fuel economy, I can make 400 miles easily. I just did some highway road trip driving last week...400 mile round trip and did it with a full tank of gas with a little left over. Cruising @ 75 with ac on.

I used to complain about poor fuel economy...then I realized it was me.

360 with A/C on, 400 without, but my timing is off.

Another key to good mpg is keeping the car light. That also means NEVER fill up your tank; it makes the car way too heavy. I used to do that and like many of you, only would get 300 miles on a tank. Now what I do is get the tank to HALF full, which is roughly 10 gallons. Now I get about 225 miles on a half tank when I do 60 on the highway and 45 in the city. Do the math: that's 450 miles to a tank full or around 23 miles to the gallon- not bad at all for a sporty 6mt sedan!

Also, don't forget to put 35 psi in all 4 tires. I know Infiniti suggests 33 but I've found that 35 not only makes the ride alot smoother but also helps with mpg.

My 2 cents...

I get over 400 miles per tank with mixed city/hwy driving very regularly, even with the A/C on.

It varies, but typically around 300 in town and 400 or more on the highway. I've had it be less than 300 around town before though. Just depends on how much stop and go you do, how heavy your foot is and sometimes the gas you are using.

300-320 miles on 16-17 gallons in mostly city driving (~19mpg) and 420 to 470 miles on 16 to 17 gallons in pure highway driving (26 to 28mpg), depending on speed, load, and topography.

What I find frushtrating is that a couple of years ago I drove my wife's '05 MaxSL from CT to the DC area, drove around town for a day before heading back. Got stuck in traffic getting out of DC. But still got 27mpg overall by the time I got home. This is basicly the same engine but FWD. Overall gearing is slightly higher in the Max but not enough to matter. Why is 22mpg the best I can get from my '06 G35x?

I have an 04 G35X and I average between 390-400 on a full tank. That's mixed driving with the A/C on. Sadly.......i can do low 300's on a full tank when driving aggressive at times. On a good note.....it's alot better than my Range Rover that does maybe 12-13 a gallon (.
