new g35 owner xenon headlight question?
hey this is my first post on this forums. I am a new proud owner of a 2003 g35 as of 4 days ago and i love the car. I have been reading about xenon headlights and I still dont really understand them exactly but under the hood of my car says warning xeon lights so i assume my g35 has stock xenon lights? my question is: are these the kind of headlights that are capable of emitting that blue-ish white light if i was simply going to install new higher end bulbs? my other question is: when i turn my headlights on to "auto" the manual says that the tail lights and headlights will automaticly turn on. In my case the headlights turn on but the tail lights turn off until I switch settings then they remain on even when the car is turned off until i manually turn them off again. Sorry for my lack of information and sorry if this is a dumb question but your help is much appreciated! thank you.

Your stock bulbs are 4300k. If you want blueish light, switch to 6000 or 8000k bulbs. The higher you go, the bluer the light. Above 10k it starts to get purple.
Keep in mind the higher you go above 5000k, the dimmer the light actually gets because the human eye can't see blue that well.
And it sound like your auto headlight feature is messed up because it shouldn't work like that. Is this a Canadian car with drls?

DRL is daytime running lamps. They are always on. Your tail lights and headlights will turn on when it gets dark enough outside when set to auto. Also your lights will stay on for about 1 minute after you turn off the car and get out when set to auto.
You shouldn't have any problem with heat by switching color temp. Just get a good quality bulb so they don't die in a few months.

I just bought a new set of lights for my Coupe. The headlights are the same for both cars HID-D2R. I have bought a different set of 6K lights for all 3 of the HID equipped cars I have owned from a seller on Ebay. Here is a link to the last set that I just got on Saturday. They are awesome and bright, and as long as you dont touch them during install you will be OK and they will last for a long time.

Thanks for the link. Seems like a good deal to me. What do you guys think of these JDM headlights? they seem a little cheap ( money wise) to me, but they look really good and considering my headlights have turned yellow-ish and foggy I need new ones anyway. have any of you had experience with these? or any thoughts or concerns on these? These are a universal set up. I would pay someone to pull your headlights out and fix the yellow crap on the outside before I would pay the money for those. The ones in the auction are just your standard headlights with a universal HID kit which you would have to wire into your current headlight wiring. Don't get these, I'm sure you can find someone in the area that will do headlight restoration. If not, let me know and you can ship them to my friend who did mine on my 96 Accord, he did a hell of a job!
My suggestion, post a pic of your headlights so we know what your working with and help give you the best information.

Actually, the plastic polishes dont work out as good as you might think. This oxidation is almost like rust. I found that out the hard way when I had tried to use just some plastic polish on my Accord headlights.
The process to buff headlights is just like doing a good buff job on paint. The only difference is you have to seal it with this special ninja magic stuff that keeps all that from coming back later. Its not a fast or cheap process but the overall return is outstanding!
