I'm in.....The fact that the warranty is only for 3/36 means we are all going to have to spend out of pocket for them.

Hmmmm...now if we can only get one for the seat...

I don't know about this, are they also going after Lexus, BMW, Cadillac CTS? Everyone I know with these vehicles is getting short brake life, BMW covers it for the warranty, one guy I know with a Lexus ES300 ('02) had to eat the cost of brake replacement at 20k, no help from Lexus, I think Cadillac might be warrantying the brakes on the CTS, but not positive about that!

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

I don't know about a lawsuit..but I am somewhat frustrated... my car has only 3800 miles and the brakes are gettin squeaky already. I understand there's brake coverage for 3 yr 36k..but I plan on keeping this car for the long haul... I refuse to think I'm gonna have to overhaul my brakes to get it normal?!?

Then after the warranty, just upgrade to Brembos or some other after market system. I do not plan on keeping the G after the warranty, so the 3/36 brake coverage is ok with me.

I had mine replaced under warranty at 15,000 and again two weeks ago at 22,500. I don't think you need to upgrade the brakes so long as good, aftermarket pads are available. I'm going that way when my warranty is up. TireRack has a good selection to fit the G35 sedans. The pads will probably work as well as OEM and probably produce less dust too.

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

I have noticed a couple of noises from the brake area recently (just over 10K on the car). Since I need to get the oil changed this week, I'll have them look at the brakes too (not at Infiniti this time. No dealership where I live).

If the brakes are OK, which they should be, fine. If not, I'll schedule an appointment at Infiniti in a couple of weeks, and make sure I get a loaner.

Nothing was mentioned 3000 miles ago when I had the 7500 service done at Infiniti.

I sure hope the brakes aren't a problem yet. My previous car, an American make sedan, made it to 85000 on the rear drums, and 102K on the originial front disk brakes. So I'm probably less hard on brakes than normal.

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

I personally do not trust any of the local mechanics to touch my G. Also, since the brakes are under warranty, why not have Infiniti replace them?

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

During the warranty period, I will definately have Infiniti fix it. But since I plan to keep it well beyond the brake warranty period, if I have end up having to replace them during the warranty period, I will look into other options later.

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

For what it's worth, I had my G35's brakes checked today when I had my oil changed. At 10400, I still had 85% of my pads remaining.

There was just a little glazing, which may explain the little noise I noticed.

Re: Lawsuit against Infiniti

about six months ago we got a letter from infiniti for a free brake job. Got it stuck somewhere, will post it when i can find it.

I've got 14k on the car now and the brakes are finally squeaking (I never use the first turn out at the drag strip ) Gonna need some brake work here real soon.

Infiniti covers the brakes for two years

Perhaps a late post, but I remember getting a letter from Infiiniti awhile back. It indicated that they would replace the brakes as needed for a period of two years. They know there is a problem with the brakes on the G.

So when do you want to sell? Are you on a lease?
