HFC or Headers???

I am looking into securing some more HP. I have a modified intake, the Motordyne plenum spacer, and have started exhaust work. But I need some help, would I be getting more gains by buying a good hi-flow cat ($470) which give about 8-10 HO gains, or ceramic headers like DC ($480)? Which will give more gains? I would think headers, right?

Thanks!

Go with the HFC's, you'll get minimal gains with headers unless you go FI also.

+1 ^ I've heard and read the same thing. You'll get maybe a few extra horses but it's not worth the time and money to get them installed

Generally speaking headers benefit way more with cams and HFC have proven OK gains. $480 for HFC? You might as well just settle for the ART Pipes.

You wont get squat with both unless you do a tune.

If I go simply with pipes, I'll be putting out some bad fumes, right? Don't want to be environmental unfriendly here...

I will def. get an osiris tune after a couple more mods. Am beginning to wonder if the Hi-Flow cats are worth the trouble, seems like people don't agree on them?

^Not necessarily with the HFCs, but you deff will with test pipes. You'll be 49 state legal with the HFCs. I know in Florida, I never had to worry about inspections and whatnot.

And headers will be a b*tch to install if you do it yourself too, and the cost of taking it to a shop could burn a hole in your pocket with the minimal gains lol

And +1 on the tune after all your mods

Most proven gains are with the Motordyne ART pipes.

The ART pipe deletes the cat? I don't want to contribute to Dallas smog...
