DIY beginning of wire tuck

The weird springy thingy is your factory hood pin. This will trigger the factory alarm when the hood is opened on some vehicles. Some alarm shops also use this to trigger the aftermarket alarm or remote start shut down wire. Might want to get that hooked back up just in case.

You should get the hoodpin hooked up for the remote start section at least since that could be a safety issue. Someone leaning over the engine bay with the remote in their pocket or someone pushing the buttons while someone else is working on the car. Thats why every remotestart comes with a hoodpin.
Also the fact that there is no trigger for the alarm from the hood means that someone could pop the hood from the outside, cut your siren wire and then break into the car with only the flashing lights to be concerned with.
