Converting these halogen lights to factory HID.

Is it possible to take these standard black halogens and modify them to use my factory HID system? If so, what are the implications? Has anyone tried doing this? I looked throught the lighting threads and I couldn't find anyone that has used the original HID system on a new standard halogen....

These are the lights ^

not worth it, even if you do. the housing was not meant for HID, so your light will shoot everywhere.. and you will be blinding every driver.

No, the reflectors are different, bulb socket different and no mounts for the ballasts.

It's a step down to use reflector housings anyway. Aftermarket hids glare badly in them. You can easily spot the g35s with them and aftermarket hids as the glare is prob one of the worse on the roads really.

Aftermarket HIDs are one of the fastest ways to rice out a car IMO.

They look like chit, unless glare is your objective.

Every time I see a Silverado or Civic rolling with blue HIDs I wonder if they ever ask themselves how stupid their car looks.

Ever notice how people with kit HIDs roll with their headlights on 24/7?

I thought I was the only one who noticed that.

ANytime i see HID lights on during the day time, it's an aftermarket kit. It could be 90 degrees out and blazing sunshine and they would have them on.

Pickup trucks/SUV's are the worse. 8K or 10K in the head and fog lights on 24/7. Wouldn't be surprised if they would find a way to stuff them in the reverse lights.

they sell close to factory color aftermarket kits. i believe stock is 4300k, and closest i think is a 5000k which is straight white with no blue..

I would like to get new housings becuase somehow I've gained significant water condensation in my RF light. I figured the easiest way to solve the problem is to just get new better looking ones. Does anyone recommend any good kits that are black and HID?

Just by the OEM HID light assembly's they plug right in. Not gonna be super cheap but it will be an upgrade.

What's the saying.... "gotta pay to play"

Going cheaper with an aftermarket hid kit won't produce the same results.

I don't know about others, but I always flash people with glaring aftermarket hid kits in halogen housings.
