Service Engine Soon Messages

I just picked up a 2004 G35x on thursday. On saturday when starting the car I saw "service engine soon" on my dash board and my navigation displayed a malfunction error.

Is this a fluke, or should I be asking for my money back. It's pretty upsetting as it is a beautiful ride.

Before you ask for your money back, bring it in to the dealer. Unless you caused the problem, which I doubt, they have to fix it under warranty. I'm betting worst case is you drive a loaner for a couple of days. Remember: the warranty is your friend.

I seem to remember other posts about similar issues with new G's. Try a search to see if you can find similarities.

Did you just fill er up and leave the gas cap off ? The mising
or loose gas cap will trigger the SES light. It happened to me.

thanks for your help. Carmen (that's my name for my G35x) is well now. I took her for a 200 mile drive and she purred all the way. I think i hit her "G" spot.
